sometime in the late 80s

about

a year or so, i discovered a small stack of CDR’s of live recordings.

several discs had cryptic images drawn on what looked like the language of another planet.

many of these recordings were recorded in the late 1980’s. and you can hear contact mics, delay pedals, and in the very end, my voice.

at the time i was good friends with the japanese artist “aube”, (real name: akifumi nakajima), sharing ideas of working with a single object, just like my 3 inch CD recordings of a wooden split, a broken lamp, and a rusted chair designed by harry bertoa. i also remember akifumi talking to me about my recordings - he always joked that they were the lowest level documents, almost inaudible.

i don’t know exactly when this recording was live. it was in osaka, i know there were contact mics, and at the end, my voice.
